One Goal

Through the Hoop to Heal New Year’s Eve event, we aim to strengthen resilience, promote healing, and significantly reduce incidents of gun violence, particularly among youth of color who are disproportionately affected. By fostering connections and providing resources, we aspire to create lasting change and a safer environment for all.

Outcome

Our goal is to turn up the fun for youth and families while keeping the event safe and educational, like a superhero community hangout. We focus on learning, listening, and providing support and resources. Need a gun lockbox? Check. Want a free haircut? You bet. Looking for cozy winter coats or employment and educational resources? We’ve got you covered. Let’s make a positive impact together.

Long-Term Impact

We aim to educate and influence as many young people as possible. The event addresses local challenges and past issues by providing gun lockboxes and facilitating discussions between youth and their parents. Ultimately, we hope to secure more guns and raise awareness within the community.

The goal is to unite a large group of youth in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment that emphasizes fun, support, and education.

Most participants will come from similar cultures and backgrounds, while others, driven and seeking success, will join those who have been systemically impacted for various reasons. This interaction aims to inspire and provide a sense of perspective for both groups.
